I am broadly interested in how environmental change in South Africa affected large
mammal communities. As I begin my doctoral research with Dr. Faith, I plan to investigate
the impacts of environmental change and human impacts on late Quaternary mammal extinctions
in South Africa.

Broadly, my research interests lie in understanding the environmental contexts in
which hominins evolved. In my research, I plan to investigate how herbivore communities
in the past responded to varying environmental conditions across Africa and apply
those insights, when appropriate, to the hominin lineage. I am also interested in
addressing methodological issues regarding the spatiotemporal scales of paleoenvironmental
proxies
